Being certified by SCTE has always been my proudest credential.

SCTE certifications enable you, as an individual, to demonstrate proficiency of technical knowledge that is relevant to your career. Our certifications also serve to provide employers with an industry-recognized benchmark for technical expertise that may be incorporated into the hiring, promotion and other human resource management processes.

The SCTE Certification Program has recently been revised to more accurately reflect the new broadband technology MSO's and cable-related industries are involved with now. The Central Florida Chapter encourages members to participate in the SCTE Certification Program because this certification is recognized across our industry as one of the best educational programs available.

SCTE Certification Program testing is available by appointment at the Central Florida Chapter meetings. Because the testing is done on-line it is necessary to establish testing dates based upon the number of participants. It is recommended that if you plan to test for one of the certifications that you notify the SCTE at least 45 days in advance. After you receive confirmation that your testing application has been processed by the SCTE you can contact one of Testing Chairmen, Steve Duchene, Robert Sears or Lennie Pici to schedule a testing date.

In order to earn a certification, you will need to pass an exam(s). If needed, you may re-take the exam. However, you will incur the testing fee each time. SCTE’s certifications are the only industry certifications to cover the entire HFC network.

Our recently expanded suite of certifications include:

Broadband Premises Specialist (BPS)
Broadband Distribution Specialist (BDS)
Broadband Transport Specialist (BTS)
